Our enterprise backup infrastructure was complex and needed checking daily. Restoring files and folders was frequently time-consuming because our users couldn't articulate filenames/paths/server details of missing documents. This was replaced by 2 Rubriks each of 4 nodes and backups of 350VMs were moved into the Rubrik system over a few weeks. Backups are now immutable, and SLAs have been set up to push them to cloud storage after 14days of residing locally. Restores are very simple now due to Rubik indexing all documents and having a google-like search to locate data. Both administering the system and restoring files/VMs is now much easier.

Veeam is more customizable but complex. Rubrik makes you realize the complexity wasn't necessary for the business needs.
Rubrik emphasizes the immutability of your data once it's on its hardware. Staff is more aware of this now, and more educated. We haven't experienced ransomware, however, we'd know we can engage directly with Rubrik support if we do.
