Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

To be transparent, we used an outside company to help with our data migration. We had to do the mapping, and validations, but they did the scrubbing and all the heavy lifting. Having said that, the integration went as smoothly as one could hope for, given that we had 25 years of data that was super messy in certain entities.
The finance team uses Intacct. It has solved the issues we were having with internal control and multiple entities. It has helped a lot with inter-entity transactions and reporting across multiple entities. It also integrates well with different payment partners, so has eliminated or lessened much of our data entry.
  • Reporting out of Sage Intacct is great. The reporting package is robust, and it's easy to create new reports and tweak to my needs.
  • Inter-entity transactions are made very easy. It does the behind the scenes work to ensure all entries are made.
  • The interaction of Sage Intacct with other partners, such as Nexonia and Bill.com is very easy to implement and makes payables almost fun now.
  • I wish their search function was better.
  • The audit function of who entered what is good, but I wish the full reporting process around that were better.
  • Our financial close is faster since implementing
  • The ability to see multi-entity financials has cut down on hours/days of compiling spreadsheets
We have integrated an AP system with Sage Intacct and that has empowered budget holders to manage and approve their expenses in really great ways. There is an audit trail of approvals that satisfies our auditors and makes it so that each department can see who appproved and when. It's a favorite feature of many people in the company.
The mulit-entity module is a huge time saver for us. We have 8 entities, and prior to implementation had to spend hours each month compiling financials from each company and then merging. It is automatic now, with eliminations happening automatically and consolidations actually making sense. It has freed up about 30 hours of time.
I think that for a lot of businesses, Sage Intacct is a great choice. I have heard it's less suited for manufacturing industries. I do a lot of private equity reporting and have to do a lot of work arounds to get the data I need.
