Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Only two people use Sage Intacct in our business. We utilize only a portion of what Sage Intacct has to offer. We currently have 12 different locations and having the ability to add additional locations without adding new accounts is a huge help. I have also used the locations to track specific events.

We use AP, GL and Cash Management. Most of our income is from membership dues and the remainder is retail sales, so we do not use AR.
  • The reporting is robust and easily customized.
  • The locations feature is a huge help is finding transactions and tracking what is happening in each of our facilities.
  • Merge duplicate vendors. The two people who use the software are not in the same location, so we have each set up new vendors and entered data.
  • In the "Bills" section, I want to be able to search by location. There are many options under "Manage views", but location is not one of them.
  • Sage Intacct is about 12 times more expensive than QuickBooks, but the robustness of the software has made it worth the investment.
We have taken advantage of recurring bills and automatic journal entry reversal.
We did not completely understand the different levels of Sage Intacct when we first set up and we ended up with a lot of imported data under the top level which caused a bunch of problems and work to repair.
QuickBooks is not a full accounting package in my opinion. At our size, we needed a much more robust system with audit trails and periods that close. Sage Intacct fulfills that very well and we have been able to customize reports for various needs.
Sage Intacct has been a good performer for us as the two employees who use it are in different locations. Only once have we both tried to change the same thing or pay the same bills.

As I mentioned previously, the ability to track locations has been fantastic. I don't know the limits, but having worked in the architect/engineering arena for years, it could be good for that sector (except I would want to be able to track contract details and I'm uncertain whether that is possible).
