Intacct, a flexible accounting system to meet your needs
Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
It is being used across the entire consolidated group (7 companies) and is our main accounting system handling general ledger, payables and receivables. It also interfaces with our CRM.
Pros
- Extremely flexible and can handle virtually any industry, which is a huge plus if you have multiple industries in your consolidated group.
- Interfaces well with a wide variety of other systems, such as Salesforce, and there are a large variety of third party apps available to enhance the system.
- It can handle consolidations, including multiple levels, something that most systems in this price range cannot do.
Cons
- Report writer, it is still too complicated to use, requiring a specialist to create reports.
- Automating payables, there are a number of third-party add ons for this, but I would like to see this functionality built into Intacct.
- Budgeting, I realize that there are third-party apps and Intacct now has a separate budget program, but I would like to see the basic budget in Intacct developed a little more with added functionality.
- Cash Management - with the advances in business intelligence and AI, Intacct should be able to offer a module that can review exiting cash uses and project cash needs.
- It has enabled us to confirm investor returns and payouts.
We have benefited from the AP automation and document control, but we did this through the use of Intacct and Nexonia, a third-party app. It has allowed us to be more efficient by eliminating a lot of manual process and eliminating opportunities for errors to be introduced.
One of the driving forces for our change to Intacct was for its consolidation capabilities since our former system did not have this capability and consolidations and combined reporting had to be handled manually.
Other than QuickBooks, Intacct has them all beat in flexibility. However, QuickBooks cannot handle consolidations and does not have the level of user security that Intact does.
