Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is our accounting system for the entire organization. All accounting team members are full users, and all department managers and directors are employee users. Sage Intacct streamlines all of our accounting processes, provides access to the organization's financial and nonfinancial data in the format our decision-makers need and is easily audited.
- Incorporated nonfinancial data in reports and dashboards to provide instant access to key metrics across the organization.
- Dimensional accounting allows leadership to view information from multiple angles without a bulky chart of accounts.
- The custom-built report writer allows an almost infinite variety of reports to be written specific to our needs.
- The customization of user roles allows us to enforce segregation of duties with a small staff.
- Attaching invoices and other documents to transactions makes audits much easier for us - we give our auditors read-only access, and so they can pull their samples without us having to go through files and boxes to find them.
- There are some places where the interface is funky or at least not intuitive.
- Our field work for our annual audit has shrunk from 11 days the year before we implemented to three days this last year. Just the savings on our audit has paid for the system.
Absolutely, we have benefited from automation. We have a link to our bank feed which imports our bank transactions daily and clears transactions if they have already been entered or lets us know if there is a transaction we need to enter. We are implementing an A/P module from a third party vendor which will allow us to automatically import or transactions into purchasing directly from the email. Our payroll and donations are also automatically imported from those solutions.
We were QuickBooks users before moving to Sage Intacct, and I was sold on the dimensional accounting, which helped us to streamline our chart of accounts while providing even more detailed ways to look at our data. If that were the only improvement, Intacct would be an upgrade. The nonfinancial data reporting, automation of tasks, and API links with other software are just a bonus. But a very valuable bonus for us.
