Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

CFO - create budget, create and manage assets, manage depreciation.
Accounting Manager - manage month end close, maintain GL, manage AP staff, bank reconciliation, import journal entries to capture AR.
AP Staff - Full cycle AP, credit card transaction import.
AR Staff - does not use, uses proprietary custom software that works with sales and inventory.
Department Heads view reports.
  • Excellent easy to navigate user interface.
  • Great on the fly report choices.
  • Easy to search and produce historical data.
  • Would love if all transactions for a bank reconciliation were on one long page, rather than multiple pages. Helps with quickly searching transactions to find discrepancies.
  • Creates clear month to month analysis of Plan vs Actual via the 12 Month Rolling Plan. Very useful in determining where we are, and projecting where we will land.
Because I have never had to perform these functions from scratch, in a double ledger, I am used to this functionality and convenience, so it is difficult to identify the automation. It is integrated so well that it is seamless. But being able to instantly generate financial information based upon data entry is integral to our business. Extremely useful.
We use the "Projects" to track Construction in Progress, before an Asset is capitalized. Helps us see how expenses for the asset project are coming along. We also track 7 locations easily, with reporting for individual locations for internal use, and Consolidated reports for official company documents.
Our CFO does the configuring, but seems to have an easy time with it, on his own, using only the Help button, if needed.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

A hybrid of Intacct combined with the in-house sales and inventory management system we have been using for 20 years was still superior to integrating everything into NetSuite, after many hours of evaluation, consultation, and running scenarios. The customization again wins the day.
I can see Intacct being useful for a variety of company sizes and industries. Easily customizable to a company's specific needs. Also, very importantly, it has been extremely reliable. I do not remember a time logging in, and the system was down. I do not remember a time of the system crashing while I was in it. Being in charge of the time-sensitive month-end close, I appreciate this reliability.
