Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We use Sage Intacct across the whole organization. The accounting and finance team use it for transactional purposes including recording and reporting, but other employee users use it to review their budget data against actual. They have read-only access.
  • Intacct allows us to integrate with other financial systems like Concur and Kronos.
  • Intacct allows us to have electronic signatures on our checks after the CFO and/or CEO approve payments online with their credentials.
  • Intacct allows us to be able to approve journal entries and bills online.
  • The AP approval workflow only allows for one level of approval unlike the journal entry approval workflow which allows for multiple levels, i.e. employee's manager first before controller.
  • There's no easy way to substitute approver on vacation.
  • Report capability should allow users to include unposted entries, so we don't have to post first to see if we did the entries wrong or not.
  • Increased efficiency
  • Increased system integration
  • Increased user experience and satisfaction
We use GL, AP, but not AR or Order Management. We like having the entries go through the approval workflow and all supporting docs can be attached for review. It's also easy to give access to our auditors to review entries, so we don't have to pull entries for them. It saves a lot of time on both sides.
I wasn't the one configuring the system. Our CPA firm did the configuration. I think because this is what they do all the time, it must have been easy for them.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

We went with Netsuite first and after 8 months of trying to implement it, we found it was not the right ERP system for us. I had to reach out to Intacct and got them to come back and did another demo for us to make sure that Intacct could handle our AP requirements for multi-entities and sharing one bank account.
Sage Intacct is well suited for non-profit charter schools with multiple entities. It can handle the complexity of the operations. I don't think it can handle really large multi-national operations that require complex accounting. Also the prepaid expense amortization module can only handle straight line amortization. It can't handle effective interest rate method, so it is not good for companies that need the prepaid module to handle that in large volume.
