Sage Efficiency
Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is our financial reporting system. Using Sage Intacct has helped us close month-end and publish financial statements to our board in 5 business days.
Pros
- The ease of processing transactions is instrumental in our ability to know exactly where we are at any time of the month.
- User role based security is essential for maintaining proper internal controls.
- Online help can answer most support and "how to" questions.
Cons
- Vanilla reports should include some with YTD in P&L reports.
- The way that A/R and A/P transactions post to the GL needs work. For example, if a customer is remitting payment for multiple invoices with one payment, the credit to A/R can be in detail but the debit to undeposited funds (or cash) should be the total amount of the payment.
- More functionality in customizing customer statements.
- Sage has helped us achieve reporting that our foreign parent company requires.
- Sage's reporting capabilities help us to understand our business in real-time instead of after month-end.
We have benefitted tremendously from the ability to have a 3rd party payment portal for our customers to pay their invoices. This is necessary as we are a transaction heavy business and this allows us to save time when processing payments and closing our books.

The key for us was customer support. Being a former Oracle employee ( quite some time ago) and implementing Oracle Financials in the past, I looked into NetSuite to compare since I had previously implemented a Sage product as well. Another company I had worked for had difficulty with Oracle Support and their lack of satisfactory support was the deal-breaker. Sage Intacct was our only solution.
