Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
I use Sage Intacct to allocate administrative costs and create reports for departments and users.
One of the problems the product addresses is the diverse dimension capacity for report developments. Where I previously manually created reports to cross-reference between an external reporting requirement and system, I can now develop reports that are push-button for a dashboard that the user can run at their convenience without having to wait on my availability to run reports for the readers of the financial information.

- Sage Intacct filters lists for easy access.
- The drill down feature is phenomenal; I previously exported data to Excel and summarized using pivot tables and with the reporting capability and flexibility at my fingertips, I have to power to enable other users to drilldown and lookup status of payment requests and such independently.
- This may be due to my limited experience but I would like to pick up more g/l detail from other modules using a custom report.
- Normally our accounting department has 11 employees however the tight labor market left us with vacant positions for a period of time yet we have managed to push-on with seven filled positions and the outcome of a clean audits speaks to the efficiencies we have adapted to using Intacct.
Perhaps this has been fixed but one of the limitations for remote locations is connectivity so the ability to send paper direct deposit advice is still necessary with my previous employer and we were unable to format the form to fit our window envelopes. Otherwise, having the automated email is good except the date shows the date the payment issued rather than the deposit date so the efficiency of the automation is not always great because folks will expect to see payments in their accounts as soon as the receive the message. On the flip side, it is helpful because if the direct deposit didn't go through notification in a timely fashion is extremely helpful being that there is a short window for reversing direct deposits if it has gone to the wrong account.
The ability to post to both Enterprise funds and Special Revenue Funds increases efficiency so to not have to bounce between entities at the transaction level can definitely increase efficiency however training for staff to complete their inter-entity activity is a necessary evil.

I have used SBT, Oracle, QuickBooks, and Great Plains. Sage eliminated some of the work I performed manually and unfortunately I feel that some of the limitations of other powerful databases are the decision-makers behind them that are unwilling to adapt by changing processes to use the new system to its full potential. I am currently in an environment where I am empowered and I have picked up the tools to at Sage Transform 2022 to use Intacct to develop solutions and I can't wait to get home and deliver the information folks are requesting.
