Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Sage Intacct is providing global consolidations with our clients who have entities across the globe and are able to systemize all their businesses at one platform to have more visibility and clarity to remove other platform usages by integrating with Intacct. PO module helps tremendously for the dropship module where the client manages it on the Salesforce platform for their customers to place the orders and meanwhile, accounting and approval parts are taken care of by Sage Intacct.

Pros and Cons

Customization of reports and views across the module is good
Templates available for all the activities which remove the manual task
Integration between any other platforms works with minimal sync error
Bank reconciliation is very good with few clicks

Sometimes Sage Intacct takes more time than usual time to run a few reports like vendor master. And, looks to see some improvement here.
Credit applications to vendor invoices are consolidated at the time of application and it could have been made individually.
The audit trail is not up to the mark and it should track all the activities with complete details.

Return on Investment

Sage Intacct provides multiple modules based on business requirements and it will fulfill the client's needs as per their budget.
AP aging and AR aging help clients to make the decision at any time to allow reserve for doubtful debts to ensure the financials are shown with correct values.
Financials are published on time with minimal adjustments or corrections. This client benefits and files taxes on time.

Sage Intacct Automation

Under accounts payable, we usually post the invoices with different currencies in our client books and the forex difference will be posted automatically when there is foreign currency other than book currency. Hence, this will remove the manual work for calculating the difference and post the journal entry for forex gain/loss at the month's end.

Sage Intacct Extensibility

Time and Expense management availability has impacted our client by integrating with Expensify. Since the client was using Expensify to have access to all the employees to submit their claims they wanted to have it separately and not allow access to their books of accounts. Now, it is being integrated, and Sage Intacct is able to populate the data with relevant fields and easy to transfer the data that is recorded and approved.

Sage Intacct Configuration

Configuration is easy and very reliable to set up and the Sage Intacct support team has helped every time we had issues and challenges during the setup. We did not take help from vendors or third parties to set up instead, we had some expertise and, along with the Sage Intacct support team, we were able to configure within the stipulated time.

As I have been using Sage Intacct for the last 5 years, Sage Intacct is best suitable for small and very small businesses because of the speed and it is cloud-based it works very well with small users like 500 to 1000 pax. Moreover, it will not work like an ERP platform and small businesses typically will not have much experience with ERP software rather they can go with software like Sage Intacct. And, more importantly, the reports and financials are very accessible and within a few clicks, they can get viewed as and when required.

I see some cases where Sage Intacct is not very suitable where international taxation exists in different countries.
