Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SAP Analytics Cloud is used by different teams as a contributor to end-user. We basically have a different set of data for a different set of users and I really like how easy it is to connect and use all these data sources. It is a really helpful tool for our marketing and sales meetings and drives the results based on the reports from SAP Analytical Cloud.

Pros and Cons

Improve business process outcomes.
Real-time access to databases.
Analysis leveraging machine learning.

Seamless integration to more and more tools.
it is still slow, when the data set is large it takes a lot of time.
Cannot combine with already loaded data.

Return on Investment

SAP Analytics is a clear view of FY review.
Sales can see the results and efforts of marketing.
Management can view the current status of ops, etc.
Marketing team can check the ROI of their campaigns.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Power BI and Tableau Desktop

We are too invested in SAP tools such as CRM and ERP, etc. and other tools cannot easily integrate easily with existing SAP tools.
Other tools might be more powerful with different integrations but for a company with so many SAP tools, this is a really good tool.

Usability

We were struggling with data modelling using Microsoft Power BI analytics. With SAP Analytics Cloud the data modelling became more simple and usable for us.
IT has an intuitive user interface, drag-and-drop operation and visualizations at the click of a mouse. Adding filters in a dashboard is easy and quick.
The first time the data load took longer but after that, the filters are quite fast and easy to implement.

Support Rating

I have never worked with the SAP Support team.

Likelihood to Recommend

Compared to other tools it is easier to work with existing SAP tools.
If you are already using SAP tools such as ERP and CRM then this tool will make your reporting way easier.
They should still work on live database connectivity; it is still not the best feature.
It is really good when it comes to deep insight views and visualization using R, etc.
