Overall Satisfaction with SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly SAP Hybris)

SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly SAP Hybris is used by certain departments in the organization, mainly sales and marketing. It’s used to handle sales (both B2B and B2C) and promotional campaigns.
  • Good preloaded features
  • Can be used by people who aren’t IT professionals
  • Ability to integrate with other programs
  • Customization of features can be difficult for those who aren’t in IT
  • It’s not easy to get help with technical issues (if you aren’t yourself IT)
  • Expensive
  • There is not a good manual / user-friendly training materials
  • Older modules are hard to customize
  • Better high volume sales management
  • Fewer abandoned carts during high traffic sales events
  • Savings on development as the product can be used “out of the box”.
  • Quick business decisions can be made to change e-commerce approach based on the analytical output of the product
SAP Commerce Cloud is great for handling most e-commerce scenarios, including high traffic and high volume events such as holiday promos. If the out of the box features suit your needs, then you don’t have to have a dedicated programmer on staff to manage the platform.

It might be less appropriate for highly specialized e-commerce events unless you are either tech savvy or employ someone who is.
