Overall Satisfaction with SAP Master Data Governance

We use MDG (Master Data Governance) for managing our Customer Master, and Vendor Master. At Cintas, we service over 2+ Million customers and we need a system to manage our master data with proper approvals before master data changes are synced to our downstream ECC and CRM systems. SAP Master Data Governance provides us a solution to address this volume with a UI that is easy for the Master Data team to address master data changes.

  • Use of extensive IDOCs when syncing to ECC
  • Positive impact is Central Master data maintenance.
  • Negative impact is work hours resolving performance issues because of data volumes.
  • The positive impact is we were able to reduce manual uploads of data and that made us retain Data integrity and reduced work hours for business when uploading mass data.
Standard GUI-based master data was very old and the MDG system provided a new lease of life for the user experience. Also, all types of master data i.e. Customer Master, Vendor Master, General Ledger, and Article master can be maintained on the same UI. ERP Master data views are complex in nature and restricted by old SAP GUI screens.
SAP provides great support for Master Data Governance (MDG). They work with us when we are faced with issues in standard solutions. SAP has a great set of Fiori tools that can be used for a better user experience. The issue with SAP is their web dynpro UI screens and they need to provide better support for performance issues that customers face.
SAP Master Data Governance(MDG) provides ease of use for the end users i.e. master data experts. It provides a good UI that is not SAP GUI. SAP provides support for any standard issues that we face. Their new set of Fiori tools helps us get more bang for our buck.
Prebuild data models and workflows helped us to maintain data integrity.
We use SAP Master Data Governance to support Customer master, Vendor master, General ledger, and also in the future for Article master.
We use integrations with CRM, Dynamics connect, and others.

It is well suited when looking for a solution to manage master data centrally. Master Data Governance also allows for audit trails of master data changes. SAP Master Data Governance also maintains data integrity. It also provides ease of managing master data. Area for SAP Master Data Governance to improve upon is UI (User Interface). WebDynpro UI is very slow and needs improvement.
