Overall Satisfaction with Sauce Labs

Currently sauce labs is being used across the company [ranging] from primary testing purposes to one-off test runs to cross browser testing needs. We also use them for mobile testing purposes as well both native and mobile web testing

Pros

  • No need to maintain multiple versions of browsers/OS combinations
  • No need to keep up with breaking changes between browser and selenium version
  • Operating costs

Cons

  • Cost
  • Initial setup/rampup time
  • Outages
  • Improved customer experience and possible NPS
  • Improved efficiency for our customer care agents to be able to easily reproduce customer issues and provide a timely response to them
Customer service, security settings and availability were differentiators for Saucelabs
Very well suited if you have a strong need to support many browsers and their versions. With TestObject hopefully, mobile needs would be sufficed well as well. Not well suited yet when you are 100% dependent on it and you have a lot of test executions, cost may become a factor for choosing Sauce labs.
