Overall Satisfaction with SeekOut

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I'm part of our specialty R&D Recruiting team. Specifically, I focus on Design and Product recruitment. I use Seekout occasionally to help source candidates. I prefer to use it for DEI sourcing, but have also used it more generally when looking for specific skill sets or backgrounds. However, it does seem to be more focused on ENG than my areas.

Pros and Cons

Pros

I like the prebuild Diversity filters
I like the campaign
Its helpful for finding emails/contact info

Cons

A large amount of profiles are not up to date
It struggles with search terms associated with design and product and is clearly more focused on engineering
It lacks integrations with our ATS (Lever) and I end up needing to use multiple systems to search and track candidates

Return on Investment

Helpful: Easier ability to identify Diverse candidates
Not helpful: It's extremely time consuming to track my outreach
Not helpful: If I'm being honest, I don't see how this is better than using LI Recruiter.

Support Rating

I haven't used support outside of the training sessions and one office hours session. I will often tag profiles as being incorrect, but I'm not sure if that's being used for anything. Outside of that, I haven't interacted with support in any way.

Alternatives Considered

Gem and Linkedin Recruiter

SeekOut was selected by our enablement team, I was not involved in the decision. Before that we had primarily been using LI Recruiter. I'm not sure that Seekout has added a lot of value for me personally and has actually added manual work on top of what I was doing previously as all the systems don't connect fully yet.

I used Gem with a previous company, but it's been several years.

I'm not sure that using seekout is really saving me a lot of time over just using LinkedIn at the moment. I noted some of my reasons earlier, but profiles are often out of date (so I always double check vs. LinkedIn), it's not integrated with our ATS fully and doesn't allow me to upload profiles directly so there is a lot of manual work to track my outreach. It also gets confused about search terms in the design and product space.

SeekOut is fine, but still needs some work to be useful
