Overall Satisfaction with SeekOut

As a Corporate Recruiter, I use SeekOut to source for positions within the administrative staff realm for two universities, in addition to faculty positions. I typically use SeekOut for very tough to fill positions that are either not receiving the right type of candidates or are receiving no candidates.

Pros

  • There are many filter options when searching for candidates.
  • There are many results that typically will pull in when searching for candidates.
  • The ability to link SeekOut messaging directly to Outlook is a huge plus.
  • The diversity tags are great - a feature that I had not seen while using Indeed/LinkedIn.

Cons

  • Sometimes the data that is pulled in for candidates turns out to be very outdated or incorrect (ie. contact information)
  • I understand the data being pulled in comes from LinkedIn but I wish it didn't pull in photos of the candidates as to avoid any potential biases.
  • In utilizing SeekOut for sourcing, it definitely improves the candidate experience through personally reaching out to gauge interest of qualified candidates and inviting them to get to know out company and any positions. Being able to get their email for this outreach and walking them through the process has played a big role in the candidate experience.
This question would not allow me to skip so I can share about my colleague reaching out to SeekOut Support. After the website refresh, we were unable to reconnect our SeekOut messaging with Outlook. My colleague was able to get a hold of SeekOut and receive recommendations that actually supported and worked in helping us to reconnect messaging.

Prior to my current role now as a Corporate Recruiter, I was a full-time Sourcer where I utilized Linkedin Recruiter and Indeed daily. When I was first exposed to SeekOut, I was amazing by the capabilities and how much more not only the search functions had to offer but also the amount of candidates that the system could pull in. I will be honest in that I have not been able to utilize SeekOut as much as I hope to but in the few instances that I did, I found that my messages were bouncing back (which to me, meant outdated email). Additionally my colleagues shared with me that they have sent messages through SeekOut before only to find out that the message went to a family or friend of the candidate they were trying to reach. I know that SeekOut has a lot to offer, much more than programs I have used in the past but I hope that the system is updating results as quickly as candidates are updating their profiles, contact info, etc.
