Overall Satisfaction with Seismic

Overall it's a good tool, but it's only as good as the content that is uploaded. We have an immense amount of content, but I can't tell if we haven't uploaded everything to the tool or if the search isn't always that great. One thing that I'm not a huge fan of is that when Google drive docs are used if you want to download or save it, it's pretty clunky. It requires you to connect your google drive and then remember where it saves the file. Otherwise, if you try to download it gives you a .slides file which Google slides doesn't even recognize as its own.
  • Content sorting.
  • Allowing me to easily see internal vs external content.
  • Centralized repository.
  • Handling of google drive data.
  • Sharing content - it's nice that they have the option to send from the platform, but I don't always want the prospect to have to put in their info/know that they are being tracked.
  • Content management.
  • I'm not the purchaser, so I can't speak to cost. It has been useful, but I don't know the ROI.
I haven't used similar tools.

Do you think Seismic delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Areas that work well Content/case study repository. This is much more useful than a shared drive or dropbox. Clearly showing what can be used externally/shared with a customer, vs is only for internal purposes Easily delineating language, product, use case, etc. Areas where I wouldn't see a need/wouldn't work well: If a company doesn't have a ton of content. If you don't have dedicated resources who's jobs are to add and curate content. You really need a single person or team who will find material from across the organization and maintain the database.
