Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I've used it mostly for keywords research to find new relevant keywords and to see which keywords our competitors running so I can make sure we are not missing anything.

Also, it great tool to see competitors landing pages and creative for each keyword.

Ahref's main benefit is focusing on SEO, which is where SEMRush still need to improve.

I would say that SEMRush is great for paid search information and less good for SEO analysis.

It's suited to get intelligence on relevant competitors, it's less good to define search volume.

You can use it to find out where your competitors spending their budget on Google but keep in mind that the search volume and other sink parameters are not 100% accurate.
