Overall Satisfaction with Shift
I use Shift as an organizational tool and window management. It is helpful since I have multiple accounts and apps that I need to reference and manage at once. It helps with my workflow and keeps my screen tidy when I already have too many tabs open. I started using Shift during COVID-19 when I was on my laptop without a secondary screen. It has continued to be helpful when working remotely.
Pros
- Window/app management
- User Interface
- Integration of apps
Cons
- Sometimes, the apps in the workspaces get confused, Intercom and Confluence in particular. When I click on an app, it sometimes puts me in the admin section and opens a separate window, and sometimes it opens to where I intended (chat or Knowledge Base). It would be nice to be able to add a setting when adding apps where you can specify the default page to open.
- Connecting social media accounts can get a little odd with permissions if you are managing more than one.
- Notifications are not always consistent. Sometimes it dings, sometimes it doesn't.
- I save time managing multiple accounts.
- I have increased my ability to focus on tasks.
