Overall Satisfaction with Shopify Plus
We use it to manage 15+ clients' websites! It takes so much work out of the picture in a way that we know can be relied upon. Inventory management, order processing / management, login flow, page structure, asset CDN. It also brings with it a sense of trust for the customer and client.. and for us a trust that there will be 99.99% uptime and speedy resolution of issues.
Pros
- Reliable uptime
- Fast website load times
- Customer account management
- Customer order mangement
- Customizable integrations via webhooks and other code-based solutions
Cons
- Webhooks often fire more than once or not at all. Keeping certain aspects in sync and trusted as such is tough. Webhooks should retry based on response status.
- Importing legacy customers/orders/products isn't simple. Having to use third party tools (eg. matrixify) isn't a good solution.
- It released the need for a team of engineers when the business was in a stable state.
Shopify Plus, once existing data imported awkwardly, handles so much of the basics of running an online shop in way that you know you can rely upon. It still requires many more third party tools to be able to use best-in-class analytics and AB testing.
