Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used by the SSC employees, and we use it for internal communication calls and video conferences. It is very useful from my point of view. Since I am located in Mexico and my boss is located in Memphis, the best way to contact each other is by using this tool.

Pros and Cons

Conference calls is one of the advantages of this tool
Having the ability to share what you have on your screen is very useful for online training
The ability to port this to a smartphone was one of the best ideas. There are still some areas of opportunities on this app, but you can still do the basics to keep in contact with your coworkers.

The lag in calls is sometimes makes communication difficult.
The big pictures of people talking over an image when you're sharing your screen is not useful.
There should be an option to disable shortcuts.

Alternatives Considered

I have not used any other similar products but what I have to say about Skype for Business is that it does meet all my requirements and I am happy to recommend it to other companies.

Likelihood to Recommend

I will totally recommend this tool. It is very useful for the company due to the ease of communication that it provides. There will be some inconveniences depending on your connection stability but it is worth to have it. You can schedule meetings with Outlook and have everybody join your meeting with Skype. They can see what is on your screen and that is one of the greatest advantages. We use this for online training and it has worked very well.
