Overall Satisfaction with Slack

Slack is used extensively across our entire organization. We use it to share files, communicate efficiently, and replace email. We created different channels for different departments, as well as general and "random" groups for people to post general news or general silliness depending on what that particular individual feels like sharing.
  • Quick response communication.
  • Lots of cool plugin support.
  • Great mobile app.
  • Ability to close media previews sent by others and have it stay closed when you return to that channel.
  • Task assignments would be cool.
  • Calendar planning along with task assignments would also be epic.
  • It's a nominal fee.
  • The increase in efficiency is beneficial from a man-hour perspective.
  • The low price and ability to add more members with ease doesn't break the bank.
It's way more versatile than GChat or other similar collaboration services. For the price, it has excellent features and makes life around the office so much better. The mobile app makes it as good as any text messaging service and allows the robustness of a desktop based communication tool to boot.
Slack is great for an open office where you just want to send a note to someone without waiting for them to check their email or texting them. It's nice that I can message someone quickly across the room without disrupting others in the space. It also works very well for remote employees.
