Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Using across our small organization to communicate regularly and keep conversations organized.
Pros
- Organizes conversation streams, including images and documents
- Minimizes communication time, as compared to email
- Easy-to-use, especially the mobile and desktop apps
Cons
- Photo upload process is a bit clunky
- Only works if everyone is on board to use it
- Some of the integrations look compelling but have seemed too complicated to utilize
- Major increases in efficiency. Even not having to write salutations and sign-offs in email saves hours per year!
- Visibility into conversations makes it easy for everyone to stay on the same page, avoiding costly miscommunications
This is the perfect middle ground - more organization and structure than Google Hangouts, but not so rigid as email. Definitely not as hard to navigate and slow to use as Basecamp. Love that it doesn't rely on email to notify users. Instead, it become the main communication app for everyone - the place where you go first INSTEAD of email.
