Overall Satisfaction with Slack
We use slack to communicate across the organization/departments, to quickly and easily collaborate on projects and issues. We have a number of channels set up for individual teams where we share articles, screenshots, issues and socialize. Slack is also useful to keep tabs on people, for example, you can see if users are on calls, in a meeting, out of the office or working remotely.
- Flexibility, allows you to easily communicate with team members in different departments.
- Love the ability to pin important articles or resources.
- Can quickly get the attention of team members by "pinging" them with a notification.
- Wish there was an easier way to organize channels (that'd be handy when you have multiple channels going at once).
- Like the ability to sync Slack with other applications we're using.
- Great to be able to add more to profiles / such as work phone..etc.
- Increased communication.
- Increased knowledge base across the organization.
- Increased familiarity with team members.
- gchat
Slack is better for larger organizations. It gives you the flexibility to create "channels" which are almost like groups in gchat, but easier to follow along and have the ability to pin resources, search history and notify team members when something important is happening. I'd definitely recommend slack above gchat, plus it easily integrates with Google Drive.
