Why you should give Slack a try
Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Slack is used to communicate with team members. The problem lies in getting a unified platform where all team members can share progress, get answers, alert others of an issue, or a new situation or client, and as a low-key platform to ensure remote team members are online and available for work. My use case is a consolidated platform where all business-related communications take place.
Pros
- Channels, creating specialized rooms for specific topics
- Integrations, connecting with apps like Trello for task management
- Voice, the ability to communicate through voice known as Huddles
Cons
- Not able to see files and conversations older than 90 days on the free plan
- A more intuitive UI to eliminate learning curve and hurdles
- Limit the number of user or channels on the free plan instead of not being able to view information older than 90 days
- Better communication with team members
- Better file sharing with team members
- Having the right information to the right team members on time
Trello is a task management tool platform that best complements Slack. Even though you can tag different team members to boards or specific tasks, Slack provides a more robust platform to communicate and share files, ideas, or issues about a task. And can be used as a general board to share the progress of a project to members not assigned to Trello boards.
