We use Slack to chat with our team, share quick updates & keep everything in one place... It's way easier than emails and helps us stay on the same page. We have also got different channels for different topics to keep things tidy and make working together smoother.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Slack makes it super easy to have real-time conversations with teammates
The ability to create channels for different topics keeps everything organized
find info fast.
Integrations with tools like Jira, Google Drive & Zoom save so much time we don’t need to switch between apps constantly.

Cons

Sometimes it’s hard to find old messages or files with search, it can feel a bit messy.
Notifications can get overwhelming, especially if you're part of too many channels.
Threads are useful, but they’re easy to miss, and it’s not always clear when someone replies

Slack has made our communication quicker, which helped speed up decision-making and reduced delays in our work.

We havent measured exact numbers, its definitely improved collaboration with up to 100 team members and kept projects moving smoothly without the usual back & forth of emails.

Usability

As Slack is very smooth can be integrated with other tools major partner of salesforce being salesforce developer it's great thing to sync things with Slack easily and also upcoming AI integration in Slack is also interesting. What can be improved is transcripts of conversation can be done and AI enabled decision making can be done like team that feature should be there.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp Business and Instagram for Business

I have used Teams, Instagram, and WhatsApp for business, but Slack stands out for how organized and work focused it is. Unlike WhatsApp, which is more casual, or Instagram, which is not built for very professional and secure work chats, Slack keeps everything structured with channels, threads, and integrations that support team workflows and daily tasks. Also it can be integrated with salesforce is great thing.

Slack works great for quick team chats, sharing updates on the fly.
Its also perfect for coordinating during live calls or project work but its not ideal for big or majority announcements like what's broadcast feature or chats that need to be tracked long term or when you need a formal chats.
