Overall Satisfaction with Slack

Slack is the central communication tool in our company. We adopted remote working for most of our employees, and having a tool like Slack where you can send messages, files, talk on the phone, and even do video conferencing is a privilege. We also use it to send automated messages to users and even receive notifications from external services. It's the whole package in just one product.

Pros

  • Text communications between users and users or users and channels.
  • Audio and video calls.
  • Receive notifications from external services in channels.

Cons

  • Interface could be more intuitive.
  • Give the user more configuration flexibility.
  • Searching on Slack is very confusing.
  • It made communication faster.
  • It brought people closer.
  • It has increased productivity.
In a day-to-day operation, Slack is pretty straightforward to use. You can use it on a Web Browser or in a separate app, which I particularly recommend. When you receive a message, you receive an alert, and then you can check that. If you need to reply, it's easy to. You can also create conversations with multiple people.
We've been using Slack for years, so no other product to compare.

I think that for any scenario where you have a team, Slack could help a lot. Slack allows people to send instant messages not only to other people inside the organization but to channels that could be organized by areas, for example. I don't see any specific scenario, though, that wouldn't be appropriate.
