Overall Satisfaction with Smartlook

Every team member in our company uses Smartlook to understand and curate learning about the user's behaviour and how they understand whatever feature or experiment the team is rolling out. It helps us identify the use case scenarios of our power users and helps us make key decisions for our business.
  • We conduct a lot of experiments. Smartlook sessions act as the primary tool to conduct remote user testing.
  • We also measure app performance through Smartlook. Places where we see loading time greater than the threshold limit becomes insightful and a key indicator of problems that the team can pick up.
  • The heatmaps are a clear-cut representation of how and where functionality is discoverable and accessible.
  • The video resolutions is very poor. There is a good scope of improvement in that.
  • The filters section is tough to understand and implement. A normal person, like an intern, is not able to apply the right filters to view a session.
  • As a very active user myself, I am still [unable] to understand how and why I should use behaviour flows. Maybe you guys can work on better onboarding.
  • Positive - We use Mixpanel for quantitative analysis, but Smartlook answers the qualitative reasoning behind all of them, which are often more accurate [than] Mixpanel's data.
  • No negative.
It's quick and ASAP. I deducted 1 point because there is always a scope of improvement.
There are certain sections that look fancy, but they are tough to use and understand. I am not able to understand how I should use them in my product processes. For example, the Behaviour Flows.
I tried using UXCam, but it wasn't working. I had set up calls with the team, and no response. But with Smartlook, it was quick and asap. Also, it begins to show results [on] the first day itself. Smartlook is better than any tool I have researched and used so far.

I would not recommend 10/10 because of the following reasons
  • Video quality.
  • Costing to value compared to other tools.

There are a lot of tools in the market that offer more analytics and data along with user sessions but having used the tool for one year, I feel more confident while using it. For early-stage startups, Smartlook is a very, very helpful tool to understand and generate knowledge about user behaviours. As a user, I don't find any scenario where Smartlook is inappropriate.
