Overall Satisfaction with Square POS

I provide fee-for-service counseling to my clients, and the most convenient way for them to pay me for my services is with their credit card. I did research into the numerous options for processing credit cards for a small business, and square outranked them all in ease-of-use, affordability, and access to customer service. I am a small business owner and use Square multiple times per day. It enables my clients to have access to my services without the inconvenience of check writing or providing cash.

  • No way to integrate with the bookkeeping program I use
  • Difficulty with processing when internet connection is unstable
  • Not completely HIPAA compliant

Square is more cost-effective and easier to use than the other products I have evaluated. Both the overall startup cost and the daily use cost are lower, and using Square does not require my clients to store their credit card information on my account.
Square is well suited for processing customer payments at a low to moderate volume. It is convenient also only if you have access to a phone or tablet device, or if you utilize a laptop computer on site. This would not be well suited for someone without a lot of technological understanding or ability to navigate electronic interfaces.
