Stripe is in a league of its own in Payment Processing
Overall Satisfaction with Stripe
Stripe is used in a few different methods. It is the payment processor through our website forms integrated with Gravity Forms. We use this to process payments for tabs at events. It goes through the form and then pushes the customer to a Stripe page to make PCI compliance easier.
We also use Stripe through our Event Management Software, Tripleseat, as our payment processor. The integration with Tripleseat allows us to easily reference back to each event and makes reconciling easy.
Lastly, we use it through Shopify, as Shopify exclusively uses Stripe for its e-commerce platform.
Stripe solves several problems for us. We are able to be consistent, see everything in one place, know the customer support is great, and ultimately make it easy for our clients to checkout.

Pros
- Subscriptions through Stripe are easy to begin, enter, and then set and forget. It helps guarantee you get your monthly payments without constantly setting reminders to process manually.
- Invoicing directly from the website is surprisingly easy, comes with several options, and customers know Stripe and know it's safe.
- The number of integrations that Stripe has is endless. I can always count on Stripe being an option, so their integrations and API settings are incredible.
Cons
- The ability to be able to offer discounted rates at a smaller threshold would be nice.
- Ease of Use
- Ability to easily charge a card on file
- Ability to easily refund a customer a total or custom amount.
- We've had a 40% increase in revenue from using Stripe based on its ease of use.
- The adoption rate to use Stripe and its easy entry was in the upper 90's.
Heartland is not even a comparison. I used Heartland for about five years. Customer service was non-existent, the technology was terrible. Stripe is in a league of its own when it comes to credit card processing and its abilities to assist you in just about anything you need to get done.

Using Stripe
26 - Sales, Operations, IT, and Quality Control
2 - President of the company and our IT Manager. These skills needed to provide support for Stripe are actually pretty minimal since Stripe is so easy to use.
- Website integration with Wordpress and Gravity Forms for online payments
- Payments through Shopify
- Subscription payments through website
- Allows for tricky calculations through Gravity Forms that allows for tax and gratuity additions per municipality based on location of payment.
- Invoicing for large music festivals to allow for quick payment.
- Looking to use information stored in stripe from our event management platform and pull that info to process payment for on site payments through a different system.
- Attempting to find an easy way to provide subscriptions or stored payment methods through Gravity Forms instead of inherently with Stripe.
Evaluating Stripe and Competitors
Yes - This replaced Braintree by Paypal for our cc processing through our event management system and then we used Stripe once starting to process on site payments.
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Product Reputation
The ability for Stripe to integrate with the platforms that we needed to integrate with, along with the ease of use in setting up those integrations while still offering several product lines for us to properly and efficiently process payments.
I wouldn't change my evaluation or selection process. The only thing that may be different is that I would have come to Stripe much sooner.
Stripe Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - There was no change management needed for the implementation that we provided.

No. I've never heard of the premium support or what it entails.
I was trying to get a better rate for processing. While they weren't able to provide that discounted rate, they were able to explain to me why they couldn't.
