Overall Satisfaction with Tableau Desktop

Tableau Desktop is being operated by our analytics team, and the reports are being used by the leadership team, the marketing team and the sales teams. This has a lot [of] useful features that [have] become handy for multiple stakeholders, for a variety of use cases. For instance, one can get live reports, notifications, filters, various views etc. And drawing insights out of this also becomes easy.
  • Data visualization.
  • Setting up database and queries.
  • Live report.
  • Notifications.
  • Error reasons to fix problems.
  • More formats and types of charts.
  • Deeply linking with third-party tools.
  • Timely action based on live data helped us save on 12-24 hours of lost revenue.
  • Time saving in management meetings where decisions need to be made bas[ed on] data.
  • Brought in more transparency across the entire organization.
It is a much lighter, easier to understand tool that can be used by anyone, even non tech people. Also, it doesn't need a Microsoft suite or Oracle suite or any other tools to operate it, unlike other tools. But it is good till the basic reporting. For deep level analytics across multiple tiers, department, products, the simple UI of this tool might not be that useful.

Do you think Tableau Desktop delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Tableau Desktop's feature set?

Yes

Did Tableau Desktop live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Tableau Desktop go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Tableau Desktop again?

Yes

It's very easy to use [and] can be used by non tech people as it's easy to learn. I have seen my marketing person operate this with ease. But one time setting up of DB, various events etc. need to be done to be able to make good use of this tool.
Great support, much needed too as at times you get stuck while working on basic reporting and queries.
It is well suited if you want a very good internal reporting tool for your senior management or even internal teams. This can help you track your targets and ensure higher visibility across teams. We used to have reports from Tableau displayed on the TV for the entire office to track.
