Overall Satisfaction with TargetX, from Liaison
TargetX is used by all of our Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Offices to manage all prospective students - from initial inquiry (or name buy), to enrollment in the university.
TargetX provides a suite of products that sit on top of, and customize, Salesforce for the Higher Education market.
TargetX's email platform is a key benefit, as well as their online application.
Their SMS and Print products are newer and still need some capacity.

- Bulk Email
- Analytics
- Event Management
- 3rd party product bundling & support
- Acquisition by Liaison has decreased customer/account support
- Native SMS is not fully capable
- Moving products from 3rd party (like Conga Connect) to internal (TargetX Print) has decreased capability.
- All the needed products in one bundle
- Efficient and customizable Online Application
- Knowledgeable tech support.
- Salesforce is everywhere - very easy to get support and how to do thing.
- Increases in enrollment!
- More efficient funnel
- Slate and by Technolutions
Both Slate and TargetX do a great job and have huge audiences in the higher ed world.
TargetX, however, is not a closed system. Slate is just Slate. If you need anything added to it (like data import connectors), you have to have Slate add it.
TargetX, on the other hand, is build on Salesforce. There are almost an umlimited supply of products that are easily accessible to download or build to do whatever you want in Salesforce. Even if TargetX went out of business, the Enrollment funnel would still exist on Salesforce.
Slate is likely somewhat better in pure enrollment mode - as it is developed solely for that purpose. TargetX is built on a Sale platform so sometimes things seem a little awkward.
