Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

Cision Communications Cloud (Trendkite)* is used to track media mentions of our clients and their competitors. While our company is an integrated PR and marketing firm that handles everything from PR and social media, to brand management and website development, Cision was used mostly by the PR team and for new business proposals. It allowed us to properly advise our clients on their PR strategies, as well as understand the media landscape when pitching new business.

*This review was written before Cision acquired TrendKite. TrendKite is now part of Cision Communications Cloud.
  • Cision Communications Cloud is pretty easy to use and can quickly compile information into a professional looking, interactive report. This often impresses clients.
  • Cision Communications Cloud is very responsive and it's great knowing that support will always be there.
  • Cision is always looking to improve and do better based on feedback. It's encouraging to know that a company cares what its users think.
  • Cision is constantly improving and I have actually had the privilege of working very closely with Trendkite to make these changes.
  • The tool can be hard to use due to freezing or the dashboard being slow to load.
  • Cision Communications Cloud can sometimes pull irrelevant and duplicate articles; however, this is usually quickly remedied by Cision staff who can help refine search times.
I honestly haven't used any similar products. We found Trendkite and really enjoyed using it, so we've been users for nearly two years.
Cision Communications Cloud is a great tool to measure clients against their competitors and to learn more about the business landscape for potential new business. It is a great tool to use to see part of the picture. However, I think often people think one tool will do it all. Instead, Cision Communications Cloud is one part of the puzzle that should be used to see how a strategy is performing. It isn't best to use it every week to see the changing landscape. Instead, it does its best when looking at mentions over at least a three month period.

Transition from TrendKite to Cision Communications Cloud

I somewhat answered this in a previous question, but I cannot praise Cision (TrendKite) support enough. I had monthly calls with the team to discuss any difficulties and new developments within the tool. I was also fortunate enough to be a tester for different feature rollouts. Cision support was always there and they always listened, no matter what my issue was. They always did their best to resolve it quickly and were always making sure that I could make my deadlines.

Using Cision Communications Cloud

Sometimes Cision Communications Cloud can be slow to reflect changes that are made within dashboards. However, overall, and once users become familiar and comfortable with the tool, it is easy to use. It is often those Cision professionals behind the chat feature that make using the dashboard so easy. They are always there to jump in and help/explain.
