We are always looking for ways to expand our positive online reputation. While we can get this through many online review websites, TrustRadius's approach generates more authentic and impartial reviews that our sales team loves, while taking that task off my marketing team's plate. We know that many of our won deals checked out our reviews on TrustRadius before purchasing, and we've even been able to generate new leads through TrustRadius's Visitor Insights Dashboard.

  • Embedding reviews on webpages is nice but sometimes I worry that we send traffic away from our website. Landing page variations with TrustRadius reviews embedded are narrowly outperformed by variants without reviews (nominal difference)
  • The ability for reviewers to remain anonymous; sometimes it limits our ability to respond to them or mitigate any issues they have with our company
  • There's no direct way for TrustRadius Visitors to convert into leads since there are no forms to fill out, so we rely on the Visitor Insights Dashboard for direct lead-gen - TrustRadius is purely a social proof play (which is ok!)

We know for a fact that buyers view TrustRadius reviews at some point during the sales cycle and we have been able to attribute ROI indirectly to TrustRadius. We have not been able to credit TrustRadius with 1st or last touch attribution since there's no direct lead capture (could change as our usage of Visitor Insights matures) but we have credited TrustRadius with assists in the middle of the funnel. The deals that we have won that we have partially credited TrustRadius for have paid for TrustRadius several times over after just a few months.
We currently use SoftwareAdvice, G2Crowd, Capterra and SelectHub. I would not replace any of those with TrustRadius but it definitely provides value that the others do not. I am not aware of a competitor of TrustRadius that has the same unique model. The TrustRadius reps are great to work with, they understand modern sales and marketing, and the onboarding was really great!
The content of the reviews seem to be more in-depth because of how TrustRadius solicits them and because of the ability to customize the questions. They're also more authentic because we don't solicit them directly. So far the sales team loves to have a variety of directories to send prospects to read reviews. It's great that it's connected to LinkedIn because readers can easily see who the reviewers are and verify that they're real.
We have only had it for a few months but we have been able to credit TrustRadius with some won deals. More directly, it has allowed our marketing team to concentrate on other tasks rather than chasing customers down to leave reviews. We have been able to uncover references that we may not have been able to discover quickly on our own.
It's great if you need a little bit of help generating more online reviews, and it's a good companion if you have reviews on other directories. If your industry relies on word-of-mouth and reference checking be sure to consider TrustRadius! TrustRadius really shines when you have a customer success team that can build a reference library based on what is generated. If you are solely interested in a pay-per-lead or a pay-per-click campaign, you might be disappointed.
