Overall Satisfaction with Ubiquiti Networks UniFi
Ubiquiti UniFi offers a seriously competitive price/performance and bang for your buck as a network installer or end user. Is it as good as the very top rated stuff out there? Probably not, but it's really, really close, at 1/3 the price and sometimes even less than that.
It's amazing to me what UniFi has accomplished at this price point. For the SMB (<200-300 employees) this is likely THE solution to look at if budget is a concern. Nothing else in this price point compares -- Full stop.

- Superior Price/Performance.
- Easy to use and set up.
- Regular updates and upgrades.
- New products coming out fast.
- Lacks some of the really advanced features you get with higher end gear.
- Some new products/software releases can be buggy.
- Since it's cheaper compared to other solutions, it will have a shorter ROI.
- Improved worker productivity.
- Easier IT install/administrator.
- Cisco Meraki MS Switches, Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Point, Aruba Networks Wireless LAN (WLAN), HPE Aruba Ethernet Switches, SonicWall NSA Series, SonicWall TZ, Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls - PA Series, Fortinet FortiGate and Fortinet Wireless LAN
Ubiquiti is a large product line. The switches are great, but only layer 2, and don't have a ton of super advanced features. So they won't meet everyone's needs. The Access points have most features people need, and are a fantastic performer for the price.
The UniFi Security Gateway is only a modest firewall. It doesn't compare to the next gen firewalls out there, but you can integrate a next-gen firewall with their switches and AP's to make a cost-effective and secure network.
The controller is free, easy to use, and updated often. I like the speed of it, and like that I can run it on my own hardware locally.
