Overall Satisfaction with Ubiquiti Networks UniFi

It's currently used in our organization for mostly point to point connectivity between two separate locations, we are using it for almost 2 years continuously. During usage we didn't observe major downtimes except for firmware updates, throughput is also acceptable and overall the devices well built and can withstand outdoor climate.

Pros

  • Weather resistance.
  • Consistent throughput.
  • Low latency.

Cons

  • GUI needs some improvements.
  • Reporting.
  • Logs.
  • Reduced cost due to remote monitoring instead of physical visit.
  • Less people required in remote location.
  • Real time monitoring.
Cost is very competitive as compared to other products that we tested against ubiquity and the availability of hardware in our region is very easy as compared to other products, device was readily provided by vendor for testing purpose, while other devices were not readily available other factor was technical support was very cooperative.

For long distances, for areas where there is a lot of metal structure like press, areas where there is a lot of electrical interference and high tension wires of electricity, we have observed following problems while deployment in our environment, for these types of environmental conditions it didn't perform up to the mark.
