Overall Satisfaction with UKG Ready

UKG Ready is our employee management system, and we are working to expand its use to handle all recruitment and onboarding. In the future, we potentially will transition our employee files to UKG's cloud functionality, but we aren't there quite yet. In addition, we are looking at the performance review module as an option in the future, if it can be adapted to our specific review needs.

  • We have reduced our time in onboarding and applicant tracking significantly, saving hundreds of dollars per eventual hire.
UKG has a lot of functions that aren't always well explained. Once I understand how to use them, they work great. I sometimes can find trainings, sometimes reach out to UKG support, sometimes find a reddit thread from 5 years ago that has instructions. Once I get the answer, I haven't had a case where I couldn't work with the system to find a solution.
I have not participated in UKG integration fully. I have experienced the integrations failing and learned methods to repair them, which is infrequent but has happened. The largest issue we've run into is that integrations are not fully centralized, so if there's an issue with them it can require finding all the components to the integration and checking which has failed. A dependencies map would be a really helpful tool in these cases.
Our benefit rollout is so much smoother through UKG than manually. Employees can view benefit summaries alongside seeing price comparisons, and since it's already in the system through which they get paid, employees feel a lot more comfortable both signing up for and asking questions about benefits. This has reduced stress on the HR team MASSIVELY during open enrollment.
UKG is great for reporting and for having a pleasant UI. I find that Paylocity has a lot more innovation, but sometimes its reach exceeds its grasp when it comes to implementation of those features. ADP is bog standard, and it works pretty well, but there's little interest in looking good, which matters a lot when it comes to the wide variety of users the systems need to handle.

Yes

UKG Ready is well suited for organizations with one EIN, even if across multiple locations. Multiple EINs can cause some issues if someone leaves one EIN and needs to transfer to the other. In addition, UKG Ready is best suited when employees have not used it at a previous workplace, as signing into the applicant portal can be messy and sometimes leads to applicants getting frustrated.
