Overall Satisfaction with Vena Solutions

We use Vena to facilitate our budgeting process. As this touches on all departments, it is used by department heads across the company. As a budgeting tool, Vena eliminates version control issues, and is able to integrate with our accounting ERP to bring data over easily.
  • Consolidated all budget inputs into various reports.
  • Once setup, it's easy for department heads to input their budgetary inputs.
  • The system's UI is a bit complicated and will take time to become familiar with.
  • Any significant changes will need to be handled by Vena's implementation team, which will incur additional costs.
  • As of May, 2020, Vena is not very compatible with Apple Computers.
  • Negative = very challenging to integrate with Mac users which limits effectiveness and adoption.
I think if you have challenges creating your budgets, Vena can be a suitable solution. Where the existing budgetary process is extremely complex with lots of other ERPs and systems involved, it may be challenging to fully integrate Vena.

Vena Solutions Attributes

Do you think Vena delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Vena's feature set?

No

Did Vena live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Vena go as expected?

No

Would you buy Vena again?

No

The few times we had to reach out to Vena's CS team, we received fairly quick responses. As part of these responses, we were able to setup screen share calls where the support team walked us through the issues. In some cases, the original implementation team also stepped in to assist.

Evaluating Vena Solutions and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Usability
  • Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor
Ultimately price - we received a low special price for our first annual subscription. Combined with our existing knowledge of the product, this led for us to go with Vena.
I think definitely evaluating other competing products, and to actually have a demo to see what the actual day to day usage and resulting value would be. With budgeting software, it's really easy to make claims about the value your software adds. However, at the end of the day, if the software is not robust and actually usable, none of that matters.

Vena Solutions Support

ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
No escalation required
Support understands my problem
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Poor followup
Difficult to get immediate help
No - The basic support available is sufficient enough to resolve problems.
I think in general, the customer support team is really good in helping resolve issues. On more than a couple occasions, on a call with a CS rep, we were unable to resolve the issue within our scheduled call time. The CS rep worked on the issue on the side, and got back to me within the day. We even scheduled a follow up call after to review the fixes. In general, I think they're quite motivated in helping resolve the issue, no matter how big or small.
