Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When everything went online due to the pandemic, meetings and classes were impossible to continue without Webex or other similar software. Webex provided a very user-friendly and secured platform for conducting meetings and class sessions. With the online meetings, the biggest issue I saw was with security. However, Webex provided a very secure platform. It allows an individual to hold one-on-one meetings [with] a large group of up to 200 people. Scheduling meetings and adding them to the calendar helped me with keeping up with all meetings. Classroom sessions, also allowed us to record the lecture and made instructor life easier. Even for academic conferences, it had a breakout session option to break the big group into smaller groups. Presenters could join the session before going live to attendees. This made things run smoothly in the meetings. Videocall, audio call, and if not that then one could join the meeting via phone call.

Delay in connecting to meetings is one issue I saw. It takes a little longer and maybe that's room for improvement.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom and Microsoft Teams

First, I liked the stable platform Webex provides. Call dropping never happened and this provides high reliability for meetings. Second easy to start and schedule meetings. Integration with Gmail or outlook helped to keep track of scheduled meetings. Second, secured platforms provided more reliability for discrete meetings. Control for in meeting notifications is a great feature. Notifications while presenting can be annoying during conference presentations. This also, allows the audience to write questions as they are going through the presentation and don't have to wait for the presenter to finish.

Support Rating

Whenever I needed support or I run into issues or bugs using Webex, the support teamwork pretty quickly on the task. So, the support management is good. The support team also follows up often. Although, collaborating to fix the issue was sometimes difficult with representatives. But the overall experience was good and my issues were resolved in a good time frame.

Usability

The security Webex provides was a great attraction for me. One can hold large group meetings allowed us to conduct class lectures efficiently. Easy to start meeting is great. Keeping track of all the meetings is difficult. Scheduling meetings and linking with a preferable email account is an additional plus point. Screen sharing and robust control allow help students to easily and save time explaining things.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex is very reliable. I find the meetings very secure and meetings stable with good internet connections. In meetings with my professor, we always used Webex. Video meetings are also stable. Audio is always clear and calls never dropped out of sudden. In large meetings and conferences meetings were stable. I liked the features it provides for administrators hosting large meetings like keeping the raise hand option for the audience or Q&A feature that allows the audience to type in questions they might have and the presenter could look at the end of their presentation. However, navigating to all the features can be tricky for new users.
