Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Webex in meetings with our external clients, Webex is more friendly towards having guest users/participants than certain competitors that we have migrated to.

Pros and Cons

Inviting guests that do not use Webex
Doesn't require download and has a browser version
Is more stable than other competitors

Not on the front lines of providing new functionality afaik
Always resets my settings as far as joining new meetings/have to reset video camera
Have to go through a confirmation screen, extra clicks, to join a meeting

Return on Investment

Webex makes it more easy for my company to collaborate with external partners
Webex makes meeting together and collaborating or sharing images easier than emailing things back and forth

Alternatives Considered

Skype for Business, now part of Microsoft Teams and Skype

Microsoft Teams is integrated with our business email, which makes it more convenient for internal calls/meetings. A big proponent of this is always having the status of our coworkers and MS teams can assist in scheduling meetings when the invitees are available. However if we are to invite external guests into a meeting Webex is better, as Webex allows for guest accounts, whereas I believe teams want the user to verify their identity before issuing temporary access to join the meeting.

Reliability and Availability

I don't rely on Webex as frequently, however, I have never had any issues with Webex whereas I consistently have issues with the other programs I use

Scalability

I haven't had any issues with Webex in calls of up to 20 people, with multiple departments/organizations. However, I do not have experience with large calls where there might be a few people presenting to hundreds.

Performance

Webex is fairly quick, and there is lag time as expected with any program, but for the most part, I do not have issues that I believe are related to software with Webex. I only use Webex for meetings, so I do not have experience or any knowledge of how Webex can integrate with other systems.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex is good for meetings with external partners. For internal partners, we have a more native system that integrates with our meeting software so that it is generally easier to set up meetings. I am not sure how Webex does for very large calls/all-employee town halls as those are also not using Webex in my company.
