Overall Satisfaction with Widen

Using Acquia DAM (Widen) moved our department from a bunch of random, barely-organized digital piles of images, to a powerful, searchable tool. Although our legacy system is still limping along on life support, it's honestly hard to remember the before times.

  • User interface leaves much to be desired
  • SSO interface for users is somewhat confusing
  • Support seems to lag on buggy issues.

  • It's become an integral part of many workflows
  • Finding the right images is no longer an impossible task.
From my perspective, it seems to have reached its full potential with us. I'm honestly concerned about the recent acquisition, as those things never seem to go smoothly or well; speaking of ROI, M&A are all about squeezing more out of the customer (us).
Not nearly as responsive as other SaaS that we deal with.
It's used for print, electronic and social.
More fully-featured (and expensive) than Portfolio, less expensive than Canto (when we last looked at it).

It's much (MUCH) better than the mess that came before it. Using Acquia DAM (Widen) makes it easy-ish to add, search and share images.
