Overall Satisfaction with Widen

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) for a variety of business use cases. The obvious one is to share marketing and promotional assets with journalists and media representatives. However, as we are in the entertainment industry we often need to receive photos, videos, audio files that relate to creative projects. Our big use of Acquia DAM (Widen) is to receive and store and share these types of creative assets for our entertainment productions.
  • Asset grouping
  • Metadata collection
  • Easy sharing of assets on external facing portals
  • It is difficult to understand the structure
  • The UI is not always intuitive
  • Formatting portals sometimes requires trial and error
  • Asset Groups
  • Portals
  • API integration
  • Acquia DAM (Widen) has helped us speed up our internal projects by providing a quick and easy way to share assets
  • I do feel it is taking us longer to administer Acquia DAM (Widen) than it did our previous supplier
  • Being able to leverage their API for custom integration with Salesforce has allowed our users to view assets from within Salesforce and increased efficiency
I'm not sure if we will expand our usage. I think we likely need to see if we can simplify our current usage and structure and make it easier for our users and increase adoption.
I am happy with their Support and their Customer Success teams and Professional Services teams. They are always kind and responsive and truly help us with any questions.
Again we are using Acquia DAM (Widen) for marketing but our main use is not sales/marketing related. It is for the sharing of creative assets (photos, videos, audio files) as part of the creative process in an entertainment company. We have to Acquia DAM (Widen) integrated with Salesforce so we can also access these assets within Salesforce.
We selected Acquia DAM (Widen) because Wistia chose to go in a different direction and would no longer support the preview of certain file types. Honestly Wistia is much more intuitive, user friendly, easy to manage. If they hadn't made these changes, we would definitely prefer Wistia.

Yes

Did Acquia DAM (Widen) live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Acquia DAM (Widen) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Acquia DAM (Widen) again?

Yes

My favorite feature is the ability to share assets via a portal. I also like how easy it is to group assets. Their support resources are also easy to access and their support team is quite responsive and helpful via email and chat. I have also had positive interactions with their Customer Success team. But sometimes always having to create a specific asset group and upload profile and role and permissions can seem overwhelming. I wish there was a lighter way to use the product. Some of our users get confused by the structure.
