Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Acquia DAM (Widen) has replaced our internal server to host imagery and leverages our metadata to make all assets searchable. This has greatly improved our post-production workflow and organization. In the past, we had to nest folders by date and couldn't search for images by keywords or even filenames. It was also extremely slow to download and upload images to and would sometime corrupt files. Acquia DAM (Widen) also allows us to customize the dashboard for different users and show them what's most relevant to their work.

Support Rating

Acquia DAM (Widen) support team always provides either a solution or an answer to what the problem is and when a solution can be expected. The only long term issue we have encountered is with the date filtering. The date filtering is not accurate and if you want to search for an exact date you must use a search query such as DSD:[mm/dd/yyyy] This is definitely a frustrating pain point because users expect the date filter to work and most users aren't familiar with the search shorthand.

DAM System Solution

We have just started sharing out all branded content in a company wide portal. This was a super easy and quick win for us because we were able to create a portal in just minutes that provides all assets that is searchable and can be filtered while being accessible by people without a user seat.

Acquia DAM (Widen) is ideal for storing assets that can have additional metadata attached without enriching images with metadata you might as well be using Google Drive. Clean and organized metadata is a powerful tool to help find and organize assets.
