Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I design, re-design, complete projects and make updates for clients using Wix. It is a good CMS solution for some clients depending on their needs.

Pros and Cons

Good template selection.
Intuitive design that is easy to use.
Cost effective -- perfect for small businesses or creatives.

There is a separate design element that is required to make the site responsive which many overlook.
Once you select a template, you can not change it though it is easy to alter and re-create elements.

Return on Investment

It has been a great tool for many of my clients and the CMS I use for one of my own websites.
It allows more freedom within the selected templates than Squarespace.
Clients enjoy using it and they provide good documentation and client support.

Alternatives Considered

Squarespace

There are tradeoffs between the two. Wix allows for more customization with selected templates than Squarespace but overall, I prefer Squarespace based on their responsive design element.

WIX is a great CMS tool. It's easy and fun to use, you have more control in certain elements than Squarespace for example but once you select a template, you can not change it without starting over. The responsive design requires you to go in and edit content which is an added step many users miss but it allows you to hide elements to customize the experience which Squarespace does not.
