Overall Satisfaction with Workday Adaptive Planning

Workday is an all-in-one solution for managing HR aspects and finance tracking, but it's not the "best" solution in those categories. But having a consolidated platform to handle these aspects is sometimes worth the hassle. You'll need to weigh the pros and cons, such as having a single platform for integration within the company, but also consider how it compares to employee productivity and the valuable features that specialized platforms might offer.

Pros

  • Expense tracking.
  • HR form and document tracking.
  • Employee resource planning.

Cons

  • Budgeting either isn't included or an extra fee.
  • Expense reporting aspects are repetitive and hard to fully optimize.
  • Finance tracking is limited to basic reports with multiple levels or drill-down...hard to fully grasp without exporting data and massaging in something else (like Excel).
  • Single system/location for employees to interact with.
  • Single system for developers to work with.
  • Provides the basics needed in a SaaS platform for easy management.
Hasn't provided applicable results for us yet.
As long as the data to be ingested is formatted correctly, we've been able to open this feature up to more knowledgeable staff to aid in the importation of various data sources. This is currently being done manually, but we are actively working to investigate the feasibility of connecting multiple data sources directly to our Workday platform to automate a lot of these processes.
The reporting works fine and provides all the needed information, but, as is sometimes the case with Excel, the reports can be bogged down, and helpful information can be buried and hard to ascertain at times for staff. We've found it necessary to export the data reports to Excel for further analysis and manipulation of the data.
For best-in-class capabilities, you'll very likely need to split the various HR and financial systems into separate systems rather than using a consolidated platform like Workday. However, a consolidated platform provides benefits by being a single location for employees and a single system for IT developers to work with. This would need to be compared to employee efficiencies gained by working with better systems.

Do you think Workday Adaptive Planning delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Workday Adaptive Planning's feature set?

Yes

Did Workday Adaptive Planning live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Workday Adaptive Planning again?

No

We're a mid-size organization working with a shoestring budget and an IT skeleton crew...not much room to dedicate resources to a platform like this fully. Having it SaaS based is helpful for system management through their Helpdesk system, and a single platform also helps streamline the knowledge needed by our developers when integrating other business aspects to Workday.
