Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
We use Workfront across the organization in order to track time entries (timesheet system), this helps us evaluate project costs and expenses. We use it too in our processes to launch projects and monitor project financials. Any project (internal or client) started in the organization is monitored through the Workfront system. We are also planning to implement the forms and communications features.
- Centralize projects in one solution
Pros
- Customer service
- Ease of use
- Reporting features
Cons
- External expenses management and processes (it is now linked to tasks but should be simpler) Ex: create a PO, approval process.
- Approval process could be simpler and more visual.
- The mix of old system vs. new system features EX: Gantt, we see improvement in UX/UI in the last versions but [it] needs to evolve faster, and later compare to other systems like Mavenlink.
- Timesheet entries are complicated when too many tasks are assigned to a user, should be able to bill time to global tasks and not on a detailed task list.
- Productivity, saving 30 minutes per employee per week with new timesheet system
- Efficiency, quickly able to have project financial information
- Efficiency, we are now able to track project hours vs. non-billable
Mavenlink: Mavenlink had a great user interface and is really simple to use. On that side, Mavenlink was better than Workfront. Its lack of addressing country-specific needs (ex: currencies and work week hours) made us select workfront. We could not modify the 40 hour week setting in Mavenlink and we have a 35 hour week schedule.
NetSuite: Workfront was easier to use than NetSuite. It is more user-friendly. NetSuite was too complex of a system for a small company like us.
I would recommend strongly Workfront because of the client support, from sales (Ben Finley) to implementation, we were amazed by how workfront treats its clients. This is definitely their greatest asset. Implementing a system like this is difficult for managers and having the Workfront team's support eases the pain. I am also impressed with the knowledge transmission, from the yearly workfront conference to the available training online. They can answer any information needed, BRAVO!
