Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
- Centralize projects in one solution
- Manage digital work processes
- Review and approve digital work
All projects from the stakeholders are submitted through the Workfront platform. Our traffic manager then assigns the projects to a project manager to complete the project. The project manager works with the stakeholder (along with creative) in Workfront to go back and forth until the creative asset is approved. Working in Workfront is a huge time saver, and the fact that it is a software system lets everyone access Workfront at any time, even on their mobile phone.
Pros
- Workfront is accessible anywhere (work, home, mobile) since it is a software system.
- Creating a timeline in Workfront is easy and quick, especially once templates are created.
- Communicating with resources as well as stakeholders is easy in Workfront, not to mention that all of the communication is centralized and easy to find/recall.
Cons
- When adjusting a timeline, if you happen to mess up, there is not an "undo" feature. Sometimes getting back as step is more difficult than you would think.
- It would be nice to upload a document into a task, and also have that document go in a folder of the main documents section (as opposed to being loose in there).
- When closing a project, sometime errors come up that are hard to resolve. Sometimes, you really just want to close a project because you know it is complete.
- By streamlining the project management process, resources are completing work much faster, so we can execute even more projects.
- Workamajig and Basecamp
Workfront is heads above the other project management systems I have worked with before. The timeline (real time) functionality is ideal for a project manager like me. The document storage is very convenient and easy to use.
Working in Workfront with my creative resources, as well as the stakeholder is very easy. We can communicate in real time within the tool, and there is a record of our interaction. Going back and forth with the creative team, as well as getting approval from the stakeholder is very easy and streamlined.
