Overall Satisfaction with WP Engine

When it comes to website hosting, the name of the game is speed, reliability, and affordability. WP Engine somehow combines all three to make our daily operations much easier. Their hosting platform enables us to seamlessly build, manage, maintain and troubleshoot all of our 75+ websites with minimal issues and virtually no downtime. With other hosts, there always seemed to be a hassle getting problems fixed and technology glitches, none of which we've experienced with WP Engine.

Cons

  • Some of their advanced features are expensive for smaller agencies that manage multiple sites.
  • The backend system takes some time to get used to in comparison to some other platforms.
  • Load speed functionality and management tools.
  • All-in-one dashboard for multiple site management.
  • Customer service is very responsive and they seem to always go above and beyond.
  • Affordability
  • Positive: We've been able to scale up more easily as adding new sites has been easier.
  • Positive: The load speed improvements we saw were immediate and have not let up.
  • Negative: Adding advanced security and other tools to a multiple sites is expensive.
While we still use GoDaddy for some services, WP Engine definitely has been a major upgrade for our WordPress hosting. In addition to faster load speeds, WP Engine has been more adept at allowing us to manage a high number of websites without straining the system. We have never used Network Solutions for our own hosting needs, but when we do interact with them on behalf of our clients, their systems always seem to be clunky and hard to use, and they often overcharge customers by selling them products they do not need.

If you manage multiple websites, especially more than twenty, WP Engine's platform is ideal. When we migrated all of our sites to their platform, we immediately noticed the time we saved while managing the sites once they were on their platform. While it took some time to get fully comfortable with their system, once we did, we definitely noticed the improvement in user experience for our development team. We haven't run into any major issues where WP Engine has not surpassed the other platforms we have used.
