Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Xero is used by all staff in New Zealand for timesheet keeping, payslip generation, leave entitlements, tax collection, and to share all information straight to the accountant firm.

Pros and Cons

Managers seem to struggle updating personal info.

Return on Investment

Enables staff to track time worked.
Reduces errors in timesheet reporting.
Makes tax collection easier.

I feel that the issues our company has from time to time are more user issues rather than the software itself. All of the aspects I have used personally seem to function as one would expect them to. Overall, Xero is a good solution for SMEs, so I would recommend it.

Cloud Costs

The ability for all staff who are working remotely to use the system, as well as for all information recorded to go straight to our accountant firm makes Xero a great option for us. Access is very easy. Whether that's from the individual employee level, the accountant, or the payroll team, all is good.

Ease of Integration

As far as I am aware, we didn't have any teething issues when we implemented the use of Xero about three years ago. Therefore, my conclusion is that it was straightforward enough.

It seems that our managers often struggle when it comes to updating personal info, such as changing tax codes. Also, it seems Xero doesn't retain the correct amount as many receive a bill at the end of the financial year. Other than that, it seems to do the job well enough.
