Overall Satisfaction with Zerto

Shortly after starting at my company the CTO called a meeting with all of IT and told us that the company had not passed DR testing in 3 years and that if we didn't pass this year, a finding would be posted with the SEC and stay there for years. IT had little understanding of a couple of our applications at the time, and this had caused recovery testing failures. After looking at the market we decided to try Zerto. This almost magically allowed us to pass ALL of our Critical systems that year, and we have not had a single failure in 6 years now. The CTO later told me that he didn't believe Zerto would do what was promised and that had it not, it would have been a resume-generating event for me. I can't say enough how amazing and easy to implement Zerto is compared to the other DR solutions I've attempted to use [throughout] my 22 years in IT. You will be shocked and appalled when you see how easy this makes your DR testing and system migrations!

  • Our greatest difficulty is that while Zerto allows you to assign new static IPs for failover and testing uniquely, it does not support updated DNS entries, this is useful in testing as the Names servers in a test environment are not usually available.
  • Operations [have] forgotten how long DR testing used to take, they take for granted that testing each year can be accomplished in hours instead of days!
It isn't always easy to remember how to do all the things in Zerto. Support cases are easily opened right from the management page and they are always quick to help with even the dumbest questions.

The sites usability is easy to understand and gives you good information on general health. Spend a little time understanding the infrastructure that makes it work and you will have no problems.
I mean, it was 6 years ago, but we were up and going with all applications synchronizing in short order. The longest tasks was getting the 30 TB of application data synchronized between the datacenters.
Again, it was 6 years ago, but given the value we got, the prices can't be beaten.
Do you have a system at a branch office you wish was in the data center, but shutting it down to move it would take too long? Use Zerto, downtime can be cut down to about 10 minutes since it seeds the system at the target. Have an application that you can't afford to lose? Zerto can replicate it in near real-time, we had a system we hadn't backed up yet, and I buggered it, luckily I had put it in Zerto, Failed it over to the target datacenter using a snapshot from before I did the stupid thing and it came back up happy as can be!
